No Account Required
Mood Signals does not require you to create an account. Therefore, we do not store nor have access to your entries, mood logs, or any data you record within the app. All your data is stored only locally on your device, and all calculations and processing are performed on your device as well.
Optional Cloud Backup
You may optionally back up your data to Google Drive (Android) or Apple iCloud (iOS). Your backups are stored in your private cloud space, and we do not have access to your backup files.
Email Collection
We obtain your email address only when you contact us for support via email or through our customer support contact form. We use your email solely to respond to your inquiries, provide feedback, or share important information about the app. We do not use your email for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt in.
We strongly advise our users to regularly back up their data. You may choose to manually export a backup file and store it wherever you prefer, or you may opt for cloud backups. Cloud backups are stored in your private cloud space, where we have no access.
Android users can optionally back up their data using Google Drive. Backups are stored in your private Google Drive space and count against your storage quota. We use a secure connection to your Google Account, and data is safely stored in a folder that neither we nor other apps can access. The email and name permissions requested within the Android app are used solely to display account details within the app, informing you which account is being used for backups. The app does not store your email address or name. The app requests Google Sign-In only when you access the Backup section, and even if you agree to anonymous analytics data collection, your email address or name is never sent with analytics data.
iOS users can optionally back up their data using iCloud Drive. Backups are stored in your private iCloud Drive space and count against your storage quota. iCloud secures your information by encrypting it during transit, storing it in iCloud in an encrypted format, and using secure tokens for authentication. For certain sensitive information, Apple uses end-to-end encryption, meaning only you can access your information, and only on devices where you are signed in to iCloud. In some versions of Mood Signals, you may opt in to integrate the app with Apple Health. If you grant the app access to Apple Health, the app will import your health or mindfulness data from Apple Health into the application. The app cannot read from Apple Health unless you explicitly grant access.
Data accessed from Apple Health will never be shared with third parties, including third-party service providers or advertisers.
The app is in no way responsible for the protection of health data or other information stored with Apple Health. You and Apple are solely responsible for protecting such information in Apple Health. Please review Apple's applicable policies and procedures before syncing and backing up your health data with Apple Health.

If you choose to make a cloud backup (Google Drive or iCloud), your photos are transferred to your private cloud storage and count against your storage quota. If you manually export a backup file, photos are included alongside your entries. We have no access to your photos.

Mood Signals is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information.
We take reasonable measures to protect the data stored locally on your device and any data transferred during backup processes. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and your cloud storage accounts.
